PROJECT: LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION

The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines life skills as follows: skills and abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life (WHO 2014).
Key skills and abilities are: self-perception, self-efficacy, self-regulation, social skills/communication, strategies for coping with stress and problem solving capacities.
Faros believes that young people from marginalized, socially disadvantaged families need additional educational opportunities in order to break the vicious circle of poverty. The Association carried through an educational program in 2022 and 2023 with 40 pupils of vocational schools from Sarajevo and nearby places, half of them members of the Roma population.
